A majority of respondents in a new poll say the U.S. has become less respected in the world over the last year.

An Economist–YouGov poll found 52 percent of those surveyed say the U.S. became less respected in the world in the last year, while 21 said they think the U.S. became more respected in the world over the last year. Twenty-six percent think there was no change.

Among those who voted for 2016 Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton last year, 90 percent said they think the U.S. has become less respected in the last year.

Of those who voted for President Trump, 60 percent say the world has become more respected, while 15 percent say it has become less respected and one-quarter say there has been no change.
The poll also found that about one-quarter of respondents think Trump has accomplished more than they expected during his first year in office.
