There is dramatic pollution inequality in the United States. According to a new study, white people experience 17% less air pollution than they produce through their consumption. Black and Hispanic people, however, experience about 56% and 63% more than they produce, respectively.

The researchers found that air pollution is disproportionately caused by white Americans' consumption of goods and services, but disproportionately inhaled by black and Hispanic Americans.
