During the January 6 insurrection at the US Capitol, a hero emerged from the ranks of the Capitol Police. Eugene Goodman courageously lured a mob of rioters down a hallway, taking them in the opposite direction of the Senate chambers.(Watch https://tinyurl.com/EGoodman-video.) He was recognized for his bravery when he was given the honor of escorting Kamala Harris at the inauguration. (CNN) Furthermore, a bipartisan bill was introduced on Friday to award Goodman the Congressional Gold Medal, one of the highest civilian awards given by the Congress.
