"Upsetting yesterday were comments made by Michigan Senate Republican leader Mike Shirkey who described the Jan. 6 insurrection in Washington, D.C., as "a hoax" and said it was "prearranged," according to a video of a private conversation posted on YouTube. I responded @SenMikeShirkey, I was there with my colleagues as we put on gas masks & evacuated the House Chamber. I heard the gunshot that killed a woman. They came to kidnap and kill lawmakers. It wasn’t a hoax, it was life or death."
