Sunshine Week, celebrating freedom of information occurs each year in mid-March, coinciding with the National Freedom of Information Day and James Madison’s birthday on March 16. According to the Michigan Press Association website, it is a national event which celebrates “open government and readily accessible public information.” Join Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel as she discusses the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) and the Open Meetings Act (OMA) on Wednesday, March 17, 1–3 pm.
