Despite the opposition of House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif) and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Kentucky), the House passed a bipartisan bill to investigate the January 6 insurrection
through an independent, 9/11-style commission last evening. The final vote was 252–175, with 35 Republicans joining Democrats in supporting the legislation.
