The ACA (aka Obamacare) at 8: What Has It Accomplished & Where Is It Headed?

Since the Affordable Care Act (ACA) was signed into law by President Obama in March 2010, it has survived two Supreme Court challenges and dozens of attempts by Congress to “repeal & replace” it. What has the ACA accomplished nationally and in Michigan? Why does it remain so controversial? What does the future hold for this landmark law?
At its March meeting, PEG will host Dr. John Ayanian, M.D., M.P.P., is director of the Institute for Healthcare Policy and Innovation (IHPI), one of the world’s largest groups of healthcare and health policy researchers. He also serves as professor of medicine in the University of Michigan Medical School. His talk is titled, “The ACA (aka Obamacare) at 8: What Has It Accomplished & Where Is It Headed?” Jewish Community Center of Greater Ann Arbor, 2935 Birch Hollow Dr., Ann Arbor, 3 p.m.
